DNA Repository, Tuesday and Wednesday
1:00pm - 5:00pm

  • New advances in canine genetics have made it possible for researchers to better analyze DNA samples. This allows them to research genetic patterns associated with certain diseases. However, the development and validation of new genetic markers requires widespread participation of Great Dane Breeders and Fanciers. Genetic disease screening is the key to addressing and conquering the health problems our beloved Danes are prone to. YES, your healthy dogs can help too, as their DNA may provide contrast to DNA of a dog affected by a health condition. What better time to donate your Danes DNA than at the National Specialty? When all the Dane fanciers come together to celebrate our Wonderful Champions and Companions alike! Our dogs make a difference in our lives, we should do everything possible to make them healthier in the future.
